Diogenes in daylight strode
A lantern in his hand,
And met with Gorsuch on the road,
But his acquaintance panned.
“If Alexander blocked my light
I’d make him step aside;
A judge immune to wrong from right
Has nothing to decide.”
So Gorsuch went upon his way,
His peace of mind all wrecked:
“That fellow that I met today
Did not show me respect.”
Alas, poor Gorsuch, never ceased
His whole life long, to brood—
“Was I born with Mark of the Beast?”—
He never understood.
