If you have followed this blog, at least when it was an active blog, then you already know I had been trying to put together a book of literary criticism. This at best "approaches" literary criticism. If you have read the essays posted on this website, and what's in the archives to the right here, you will have already seen most of the content (click on the link, Lit Crit: Politics and Poetics, and you will be able to compare the Table of Contents from the site's preview function), albeit in unrevised form.
The long essays are as you will find them here, but the pieces from the blog have required a fair amount of editing to rid them of extraneous matter, or simply to make corrections. Given the haste with which many of the blog posts were written, errors or simply ill-considered statements crept in (and have, thus far, been allowed to stand in their original form). A book requires more care.
This is my last book of prose, or so I intend it. But I have been wrong in making such assertions before.
