The court was compromised
When Gorsuch took a seat,
No greater threat devised
Nor greater the conceit
Whereby—once highly prized—
Civility was beat.
A party grew in strength
That little cared for truth
Or honesty at length,
But short-term goals pursu’th
Though onus overhang’th
Its villainies uncouth.
For self-interested greed
It sacrificed in stealth
Then openly, indeed,
The utter commonwealth,
As wars on truth proceed
Called “of the state the health.”
The apparatus must
Have decimated cogs
And minions, who will just
Serve thieves and demagogues,
With slanders croaked robust
Ubiquitous like frogs.
So rampant and widespread
The slanders grew and came
To muddle every head,
And honesty defame,
Till none would dare to tread
Near truth but crouched in shame.
