As I was hanging from the Cross as I was crucified,
I wondered where was justice lost and then “I thirst” I cried.
I thirst (and did) for justice so I called upon my father,
“Eloi, Eloi, please let me know (if it be worth Thy bother),
“Will justice ever be—I mean in country known to man?”
He answered, “It may yet be seen in China or Japan,
“But give up hope of seeing it in the ole USA,
Because they hardly give a shit no matter what folks say.
“Oh, folks hang out on corners or in temple they’ll be singing
Especially on Sundays more and more the bullshit flinging
“But even though these folks profess that ‘hallowed be Thy name’
Their actions always do digress from justice just the same.
“Can any land that boasts the Gorsuch-and-McConnell axis
Expect a postulate to flourish and be rendered praxis?
“No, no, ‘Vengeance is Mine’ but so is justice even finer,
But if you seek it maybe go off to Japan or China;
“There’s better luck you’ll find it there than in the USA
Because an evil axis scared the hope of it away,
“So hang your head and thirst, dear boy, there’s others thirsting too,
But till such day as seas destroy, ‘make-do’ will have to do.”
