You call my party frauds and jerks
But we know how to gum the works—
We may not get a bill to pass
But know the way to scorch the grass.
We want the government to fail
(So campaign promises assail)
And when we win, by hook or crook
Why let the voter off the hook.
No, it was not one man, or two,
For how could it have gotten through—
Destruction in so many ways?
A partyful devotes its days,
Devotes its nights, to lies and scandal,
For who needs an external vandal
When we ourselves can foment rust,
Dishonesty and lack of trust.
Of men and women, there were scads
Who felt that goods were worse than bads,
And so dismantled, one by one,
The good works our forefathers done.
Corrupt in cretins, we are rich
In rivals to outpace ol’ Mitch,
But for the moment, so much joy
My wife takes from her Mitchy-boy.
