Nomination by Black Obama
Was more than White McConnell dared
To countenance, and he despaired
As having learnt from dear old Momma:
That Black is backward, White is right,
And Privilege is worth a fight.
So Merrick Garland, nominee,
Surrogate Black, was sent to limbo:
Mitch blocked his way with arms akimbo,
McConnell White as White can be—
Since Black was backward, White was right,
And Privilege was worth the fight.
No matter it required abeyance
Of protocol, good will, and fair
Procedure—Mitch took such a scare,
Declaring there must be a seance
Beneath ghostly imprimatur
Of John Calhoun, who must concur.
The Wheels of Process fully halted,
No titter yea or nay allowed,
And it did Mitch White Momma proud—
The Press, assenting, never faulted,
For Black is backward, White is right,
And Privilege is worth a fight.
And so it came to be one act
By senators seditious led
By White Mitch sacrificed instead
Sanctity for subversive pact
That Black was backwards, White is right,
And Privilege is worth a fight.
But one day after many years
His Momma rotting in her grave,
Posterity to White Mitch gave
Its lasting tribute, hindsight jeers,
For Black was forwards, White was wrong,
And Privilege went on too long.
