What they do not agree with they
Now simply call a lie,
Bogus—you hear it every day:
Deny, deny, deny.
How did one batch (and no small mass)
Of citizens become
Wedded to falsehood—smoking grass?
It is not they are dumb.
The old “me first” of SUVs
And pickup trucks is over
For Planet Earth—do as you please,
And nature may recover,
But humankind’s belligerence,
Obstreperous behavior
Will not come without incidence
And Christ will be no savior.
The Golf Course King, Casino Man
A party chose to lead
Will triumph for a wee, wee span
And then its day recede.
The only essence to survive
In man’s posterity
Is kindness: acts that it may drive
Keep human nature free.
Heavenly Lord, I am ashamed
That this motley cabal—
Its face well known though left unnamed—
Relates to me at all.
Then sunder that genetic code:
If fish were meant to walk,
Mankind turned wrong upon that road,
As truth dies on the stalk.
