“Life is a caravanserai,”
The Sufi master said,
“We say ‘hello’ and then ‘goodbye,’
Are born and then are dead.
“In light of this incredible
Brief moment of sojourn,
By coffin worms being edible
Soon after we are born
“Instead of trying to put down
A brother, gain advantage,
Let kindness mutually be shown
In this world of supplantage.
“Help one another, rather than
Seeking to harm.” — “I’m sorry,”
Riposted a Republican,
“It is the height of folly.
“There’s people like myself out there,
If I tried acting nicely,
Some greedy nut-job without care
Would cut me down and slice me.”
Such is a reason why the Right’s
So keen on hurtful harming,
And with each new low, from the heights
The Left finds it alarming.
Indeed there’s people out there that
Have no use for a sufi,
Their Jesus tells them pack a gat,
To not do so is goofy.
