There was no “evil axis” found
Between Saddam Hussein
And Saudi terrorists who downed
Two skyscrapers by plane—
Though it was used to justify
The waging unjust war
(A war of plunder, none deny,
Deceptive at its core).
However in the “homeland” (as
Colonialists might say)
An even greater axis has
Revealed itself today,
Domestically the greatest threat
A nation ever saw:
Evil like you ain’t seen it yet
Subverts the roots of law.
The Gorsuch-and-McConnell axis
Designed so to ensure
That never wealthy owner lacks his
Protected sinecure.
Let all the rabble and the poor
Be drained of what they have,
Be bled at work in peace or war,
In wage reduced to slave.
It was for this the Judge was propped,
McConnell lent his hand,
The Constitution to co-opt,
Legitimacy banned.
They strove to fell the government,
A judge, some senators,
Nor citizens were innocent
In charting the wild course.
With repercussions yet unknown
It’s “each man for himself,”
The treasured Constitution thrown
In tatters on some shelf,
To be forgotten, even as
Civility has failed—
The evil axis too must pass,
Democracy derailed.
