Does anybody on this earth
Believe their skin increases worth
To such sublime exalted height
As those by birth considered white?
No, nobody is more obsessed
With segregating “worst” from “best”
Than those who have a skin so pale
It's like a pigmentation fail.
Please! Self-esteem that is not based
On virtue is entirely waste,
A mechanism more or less
Designed precisely to oppress.
This racial ideal I renounce
Which claims that give or take an ounce
It matters how the bloodlines mix
And calls “color” a thing to fix.
To whiteness I will not subscribe
But leave you with my diatribe:
If demographics makes us brown,
America, then bring it on!
