“National white identity”
Indeed, is “under siege,”
“It’s time for it to go,” and we
Don’t need to say, “my liege.”
A fake compounded on a fraud,
There’s no such thing as “white,”
Neither by science nor by God:
The framework isn’t right.
An artificial construct made
To justify a wrong—
Let me slip off into the “shade”
For I do not belong
With those who self-identify
As “Christian white” (whatever),
But from the group resign—bye bye—
And from the ideal sever.
The content of one’s character
Counts more than does his skin,
As King proclaimed, and I defer
To his stark bulletin.
Whatever consequence may come,
I will accept it gladly,
Relinquishing this “whiteness,” sum
Of what you covet badly.
Whatever epithet you hurl
To denigrate another,
Considered as a precious pearl,
Demeans but you, my brother.
