Turning the Tables on Jesus

7/26/2017

When Christianity lacks Jesus
The Gospel message cools, then freezes,
    But let’s see
    What Betsy
Calls Christian, with her lot of sleazes.

Her brother is Il Principito,
And she serves the Malignant Cheeto,
    Which lets see
    Rich Betsy
As someone Jesus Christ would veto.

The object of her love is money
Which buys a person milk and honey,
    But poor folk
    Are more broke
Because they’re ignorant and funny.

She is the type of Christ-believer
That thumps the Bible, a deceiver
    Distractive,
    This active
Despoiler, plunderer and reaver.

Of Jesus she commits the murder
With faith that could not be absurder,
    For Betsy
    Forgets ea-
Sily Christ was no empty worder.

For Jesus turned the tables over,
Money’s revoker and disprover,
    But Betsy,
    Tut, let’s see,
Is money’s worshipper and lover.
